bump watch - 31 weeks

We had a fun weekend visiting friends in Oak Park. My pal Jeanne is expecting #2 in early June and boy did we attract a lot of attention around town! I guess two bumps = double trouble!

baby Libert, take two

We had a great time at our 30 wk ultrasound! The baby gave us another round of good photos. You can see the face profile, an arm and a hand in this one.

The tech guessed measurements at 17 inches and 4 lbs 7 oz (!!!!). So....baby could be on his/her way to 9 + lbs. We'll see!

10 week countdown

Each week that goes by brings us one week closer to meeting baby, and we're SO excited. Tomorrow is our 30 wk check-up and sono. We can't wait to see how much the baby has grown.

Ben's made lots of progress on the baby's room. 3 walls are painted and the 4th has primer and awaits the mural ...the crib is assembled and we're happy with it. Feels like we've gotten a lot done, but also feels like we have tons left to do at the same time.

We're pretty much done registering, thank goodness, and can't wait to celebrate with all our friends and family at the upcoming baby showers. Upcoming to-dos: find bedding, hospital tours and parenting classes.

boy or girl?

Almost 30 weeks of suspense is behind us...10 more to go! I can't wait to find out whether it's a boy or a girl! So what do you think we're having? Be sure to vote!

invasion

It's hard to feel like yourself when you're pregnant. Beside my morning sickness early on, though, I've felt  close to normal. Not too crazy hormonal, somewhat the same energy level, etc. That's all changing now that I've hit the third trimester -- the baby is totally taking over. I definitely can't keep up at the same pace. Everything takes so much more energy!

I've really started to notice how much the extra weight is slowing me down, causing aches and pains, etc. My butt and feet hurt from a lot of sitting or standing -- like the extra weight is just too much for them to offer sufficient cushion!! Sleeping is also turning into a real challenge. I'm never comfortable!

Well, that's enough complaining for one day. 12 weeks to go, and I want to enjoy it as much as possible. Send me your strength and positive energy. I take comfort in knowing that lots of great women have done this with grace and poise...and so can I!

28 weeks already!

My 28 wk check-up is tomorrow (and my sugar test). Only 12 more weeks. I can't believe how time is flying by. We had fun celebrating Easter with family today and thinking about what's in store for next Easter. Driving to church today I was thinking about a baby girl in an Easter bonnet...or a baby boy in a fun spring cap....we'll see! It's definitely getting harder and harder to wait. We can't wait to meet our baby!

We made some more progress on the baby's room yesterday when we picked up a bookshelf at Ikea. Next up is the dresser. I've also started the slow process of registering. It's SO MUCH HARDER than registering for our wedding. I need to stop agonizing over it -- that's my goal for this week. Just do it!
